HISTOIRE

La Canadian Academic Accounting Association a été constituée le 2 décembre 1976.

The Canadian Academic Accounting Association : 25 Years of Progress a été produit à l'occasion de l'anniversaire d'argent de l'ACPC en 2001. Le projet a été coordonné par J. Efrim Boritz et rassemble les contributions des anciens présidents de l'Association ainsi que l'histoire de l'ACPC, rédigée par Alan J. Richardson.

CAAA 25 Years of Progress

C'est avec une certaine appréhension que je vous propose cet historique. Il est toujours dangereux de faire une comptabilité des événements lorsque les personnes concernées sont encore là pour vous dire ce qui s'est « réellement » passé. Je présente une interprétation des événements entourant les origines et le développement de l'ACPC pour nous aider à comprendre ce que nous avons entrepris, ce que nous avons accompli et où nous allons. Il s'agit en partie d'une simple reddition de comptes aux membres de l'ACPC sur ce que les personnes chargées du bien-être de l'organisation ont fait. Plus encore, il s'agit d'une tentative de renforcer notre identité en tant que communauté, de fournir une perspective sur la voie que nous nous sommes fixée et d'agir comme une partie tangible de notre mémoire organisationnelle. Notre histoire nous aide à comprendre comment nous sommes arrivés à ce stade et les possibilités qui s'offrent à nous.
...cette histoire est écrite comme un point de départ. L'ACPC est une organisation dynamique qui a beaucoup plus à faire devant elle que derrière elle. Mon but est que ce document puisse stimuler le débat sur l'avenir et sur les politiques et les programmes qui serviront le mieux les intérêts des membres au fur et à mesure que nous avançons.

I am confident that we will be able to say as much about the CAAA 25 years from now.
