AI is transforming decision-making and knowledge work, but not all AI risks are created equal. Predictive AI raises serious concerns about encoding bias into decisions about human behavior, while generative AI introduces a fundamentally different set of societal challenges where the human in the loop becomes the critical line of defense. Are we equipped to tell the difference and respond accordingly?
Emerging Technologies Assistant Professor Malik Datardina (UW’s School of Accounting and Finance) will break down the distinct ethical landscapes of predictive and generative AI. Drawing on the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and leading AI scholarship, he will equip attendees with practical language and structure for identifying, separating, and mitigating the unique risks each type of AI presents.
Join us for a clear-eyed session on what it takes to govern AI responsibly in an era of rapid adoption.
