GUIDELINES FOR PRESENTING AUTHORS, DISCUSSANTS & MODERATORS

All participants are responsible for creating an inclusive and respectful session environment that encourages constructive feedback. Our conference is a place in which people feel safe, welcomed, and encouraged to learn and to exchange and express ideas.

SESSION TIMING DETAILS

  • Sessions consist of three presentations over 90 minutes:
    • Author presentation: 15 minutes
    • Discussant: 10 minutes
    • Author response and/or other questions: 5 minutes

LOGISTICS

  • If you are the first presenter for your session, please arrive at least 5-10 minutes before the session’s start time.
  • Please bring a copy of your presentation in PDF and PPT formats on a USB key.
  • Please keep within the scheduled timeslot. Going overtime impacts other presenters within your session. You may want to discuss an ‘end of presentation warning’ with the moderator of your session.

MODERATORS

Moderators are responsible for managing the flow and timing of the session, including keeping presentations and discussions on schedule. As moderators also serve as discussants within the same session, they are not expected to prepare additional questions for papers beyond their discussant role. During the session, moderators should facilitate a smooth transition between presenters and discussants and ensure that the discussion period proceeds in an orderly and collegial manner.


Moderators are asked to touch base with presenters and discussants approximately one week prior to the conference to confirm session logistics.
