
The prize, which constitutes a plaque and $2,000, is awarded at the CAAA Awards Lunch at the Association's Annual Conference. The winner also enjoys a complimentary registration to the 2019 Annual Conference.
2018
Kwangjin Lee, Michigan State University, for "Social Media Disclosure and Analysts as Information Intermediaries".
Dongyoung Lee, McGill University earned an Honourable Mention for "Technological Innovation, Voluntary Financial Disclosure, and Future Sales Growth".
The Lazaridis Institute Prize is awarded to the paper that, in the interpretation of the Prize Committee, best addresses issues relevant to technology companies (and/or the use of technology by companies) in an accounting context, with topics including but not limited to:
- Firm growth
- Firm decision making
- Firms in transition, including the impact of venture capital, IPO and M&A activities;
- Governance;
- Innovation, including the use of automation in auditing or accounting;
- Financial reporting.
Submissions
The call for submissions will accompany the Call for Papers for the 2019 CAAA Annual Conference, in late Fall 2018.
