Kwangjin Lee, Michigan State University, for "Social Media Disclosure and Analysts as Information Intermediaries".

Dongyoung Lee, McGill University earned an Honourable Mention for "Technological Innovation, Voluntary Financial Disclosure, and Future Sales Growth".

The Lazaridis Institute Prize is awarded to the CAAA Conference paper that, in the interpretation of the Prize Committee, best addresses issues relevant to technology companies (and/or the use of technology by companies) in an accounting context, with topics including but not limited to:

  • Growth and high or accelerated growth
  • Decision making
  • Firms in transition, including the impact of venture capital, IPO and M&A activities;
  • Governance;
  • Innovation, including the use of automation in auditing or accounting;
  • Financial reporting.
Submissions

The call for submissions accompanies the Call for Papers for the 2021 CAAA Annual Conference. Authors submitting papers for the conference will be asked to identify during the submission process if they would like their paper to be considered for the Prize.
