CMA–CAAA Research Grant Program
2012 Award Recipients
The CAAA is pleased to announce the results from the 2012 CMA–CAAA Research Grant Program. The broad purpose of this fund is to encourage Canadian academics to undertake projects that are relevant to the management accounting profession.
The CAAA Research Committee selected the following projects for funding:
- Theophanis C. Stratopoulos (University of Waterloo), and Clark Hampton (University of Waterloo), "Estimation of Industry Attractiveness with Accounting Variables" Awarded: $5,553
- Hai Lu (University of Toronto), "Private Network and Wealth Transfer: Evidence of Information Leakage Before Option Backdating Announcements" Awarded: $8,400
- Ole-Kristian Hope (University of Toronto), "Large Shareholders and Accounting Choices"
- Jo-Anne Ryan (Lakehead University), "Emerging Technologies and Accountants: Roles and Issues for the Future" Awarded: $5,800
