ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP CONTEST

The CAAA serves the needs of all Canadian accounting academics!! Meet colleagues at other universities and colleges for collaboration on areas of similar interest. The annual conference is a great place to meet your colleagues, attend the research and education programs, and learn about what is happening. The online membership directory lists members based on their areas of similar interests — a great resource! Share teaching skills through our Educators’ Forum, and especially the Teaching Aids area all to be found in the Members Only Area of the web site. Our Contemporary Accounting Research (CAR) journal, an excellent vehicle for research, and our journal Accounting Perspectives (formerly Canadian Accounting Perspectives), is a valuable publication that focuses on applied research.

The Membership Committee encourages all existing members to find one or more new members. They could attend the annual conference in Vancouver and see firsthand the benefits of joining the CAAA. There are prizes to be won. Here is all you have to do:

Find a new member to join the CAAA and have that member indicate on the application form that you are the sponsor. To be eligible, the new member must join by April 9, 2010.

New Member Prizes:

All such new members will participate in a draw for:

1. a complimentary registration to the 2010 CAAA conference (social event not included); OR
2. a second year of membership FREE!

Sponsoring Member Prizes (All will be eligible for a separate draw):

First: CAAA Conference basic registration for the 2010 conference in Vancouver;
Second: $75 gift certificate Chapters-Indigo bookstores;
Third: $50 gift certificate to Chapters-Indigo bookstores.

For Renewing Members:

All current members who renew their annual membership before March 1, 2010 will be eligible for a draw to register for the 2010 CAAA Conference at the reduced student rate.

The real winner in this contest will be the CAAA. Recruiting new members is very important to our continued success. Your help is appreciated.
