Lecturer/Assistant/Associate or Professor of Accounting

The School of Business Administration, Dalhousie University, invites applications for two positions for probationary tenure track, tenure-track or tenured appointments in Accounting at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant, Associate or Professor commencing July 1, 2010 (negotiable).  One position is to be at a more senior level.  For the more senior ranks a robust research record and strong teaching abilities are essential.  For less senior ranks, a promising research record and evidence or promise of strong teaching are required.  Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or ABD) in Accounting or a related discipline.  A professional accounting designation is also desirable.

The School of Business Administration is part of the Faculty of Management, which has a unique commitment to values-based management and inter-disciplinary research and learning.  Thus, the successful candidate will have opportunities to work with colleagues in the sister schools of Public Administration, Information Management, and Resource and Environmental Studies, within the Faculty.

The successful applicant’s primary responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, continuing an active research program and contributing to the academic life of the School.  All applicants will be seriously considered, but preference will be given to candidates with a research profile in areas compatible with the Faculty, combined with teaching capabilities.
