The School of Business of the University of Northern British Columbia invites applications for a tenure track position in Accounting at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2012.  

The School of Business offers three degrees:  A Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources Management, International Business, Marketing and General Business, MSc in Business Administration, and an executive MBA program. The University of Northern British Columbia is a small, research intensive university with an enrolment of over 3,000 students in more than 40 undergraduate and graduate programs.  UNBC has a strong mandate for growth and a beautiful, comprehensive campus.  UNBC is committed to research and teaching excellence, and provides strong support for faculty to develop their scholarly capabilities. The successful candidate will possess a PhD in any area of Accounting.  Applicants will be evaluated on their potential for and/or record of excellence in research, teaching, and service.  Candidates at the Associate rank should have demonstrated a strong record of high-quality performance in each of these three areas.  The successful candidate will be expected to develop a productive externally funded research program in one of the areas of Accounting that complements current scholarly activity in the School of Business and preferably entails collaboration with current faculty.  Information that describes the research focus of the current faculty can be located at: http://www.unbc.ca/commerce/faculty.
