Report of the CAAA Research Committee - August 2007The research committee is subdivided into four sub-committees with each sub-committee evaluating proposals for one of the four research calls. Four applicant groups were invited to submit full proposals. The SAP / CAAA Research Committee selected the following projects for funding:
The CAAA gratefully acknowledges the financial support of SAP AG in making this research opportunity available to our members. CICA / CAAA Research Grant Program - June 2007 Thirteen letters of intent were received and forwarded to CICA for their review. Nine applicant teams were invited, and submitted full proposals by June 30, 2007. CICA generously agreed to fund four proposals this year instead of the normal two for a total of $40,000. The CICA / CAAA Research Committee selected the following projects for funding:
CMA Canada / CAAA Research Grant Program – September 2007 Eight letters of intent were received by June 30, 2007 and forwarded to CMA Canada for their review. Seven LOIs approved by CMA Canada were invited to submit full proposals by September 30, 2007. The CAAA gratefully acknowledges the financial support of CMA Canada in making this research opportunity available to our members. Deloitte & Touche / CAAA Research Grant Program – September 2007 The research call for the Deloitte & Touche now has a 30 September 2007 deadline for letters of intent. The CAAA gratefully acknowledges the financial support of Deloitte & Touche in making this research opportunity available to our members. Annual Research Fund Call Timelines The CAAA Research Committee has decided to standardize the deadlines for its four research calls at the end of each quarter so that members can better plan by being aware that every quarter-end constitutes a deadline for one of its call.
Note that calls now give members two months to translate their Letter of Intent into a full-blown research grant proposal. CICA and D&T research call deadlines have been kept six months apart because they generally attract similar applicants. We are hoping that ongoing funding from our donors will allow us to further standardize our administrative and adjudication process. Annual Reports CAAA members who have received CAAA research grants are reminded of their obligations to submit annual progress reports of their research activities to the CAAA secretariat (admin@caaa.ca). In addition, grant recipients are also required to submit final reports and completed working paper(s) when their projects are completed. Our funding partners require output measures (working papers, conference presentations, publications) that they can report to their stakeholders in order top justify continued funding. Thank you to all the members who have already submitted their progress and final reports. Amin Mawani
