	What’s New / Quoi de neuf The Society of Management Accountants of Canada (CMA Canada) and the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) have issued an open call for nominations from federal public servants to nominate colleagues and/or to self-nominate for the Award of Excellence for Comptrollership in the Public Sector. The Award of Excellence for Comptrollership in the Public Sector includes two award categories: (1) Innovation, and (2) Financial Leadership (CFO). The annual awards, consisting of a plaque and a $1,000 donation to a charity or scholarship fund of the winner’s choice, are given to a federal public servant or team who has made “a significant contribution” to financial management and/or comptrollership within the Government of Canada. In addition, consideration forms may be submitted for a Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, which is awarded at the discretion of the selection committee. The deadline for nominations is Friday, January 22, 2010. The award ceremony will take place on Monday, May 10, 2010, at the Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa. Le Prix d'excellence dans la fonction de contrôle – secteur public inclut maintenant deux catégories : Innovation et Leadership financier. Le prix remis dans chacune des catégories consiste en une plaque accompagnée d'un don de 1 000 $, qui sera versé à un organisme de bienfaisance ou à un fonds de bourses d'études choisi par le lauréat. Il est décerné à un fonctionnaire ou à une équipe de fonctionnaires qui se sont démarqués par leur importante contribution à la gestion financière ou à la fonction de contrôle au sein de l’administration publique canadienne. De plus, les personnes intéressées peuvent proposer une candidature au Prix CMA-CIPFA pour l'œuvre de toute une carrière, que le Comité de sélection décidera, à sa seule discrétion, de décerner ou non. Vous avez jusqu'au vendredi 22 janvier 2010 pour soumettre des candidatures. Cette cérémonie aura lieu le lundi 10 mai 2010, au Fairmont Château Laurier, à Ottawa. Canadian Forces Rear-Admiral Bryn Weadon is also congratulated as the first recipient of the CMA-CIPFA Lifetime Achievement Award.
