SATURDAY EVENING SOCIAL EVENT
The Saturday night Gala event will start with a walking tour of the famous Winnipeg Exchange District. The Exchange District features National heritage buildings such as the Union Bank Tower, the first skyscraper in Western Canada; the Maw Garage, once the largest car dealership in Western Canada; the Merchants Bank Building, the first steel frame skyscraper in Winnipeg; and Newspaper Row at the corner of McDermot Avenue and Albert, once the hub of news printing and publishing activity in Winnipeg. Afterward, dinner in the Fort Garry Hotel Ballroom will feature live entertainment.
