Charlottetown, PEI
Delta Prince Edward Hotel
Thursday, May 31 - Sunday, June 3, 2012
CALL FOR PAPERS
Troubled Waters
The accounting profession faces several challenges in this globalization era. Will it be able to adapt and seize the opportunities that it encounters? Will research in accounting be able to support the profession through these endeavours?
The 2012 annual conference of the Canadian Academic Accounting Association (CAAA) is an ideal forum to explore the various dimensions of this issue. The conference will be held in Charlottetown, in the beautiful province of Prince Edward Island, from May 31 to June 3, 2012. We invite you to join your colleagues from around the world for this event.
Key Dates
Papers are to be submitted in an electronic form to: http://hq.ssrn.com/conference=CAAA-2012
The deadline for submission is January 15, 2012.
The Scientific Committee’s decisions regarding paper acceptance will be sent by March 15, 2012.
Submission Criteria
All submissions should meet the following criteria:
- At least one author of the submitted paper must be a member of the CAAA.
- All submissions must include an abstract of not more than 250 words detailing the research question, research method, main findings and contribution of the study.
- Abstracts for all accepted papers will be included in the conference program. Author identification should appear on the cover page only while the paper's title should appear on both the abstract page and the first page of the body of the paper. Please submit electronic versions of both the full text of the paper including the cover page (SSRN refers to this as the "file"), and a "blind file" (the full text without the cover page or any other author identification).
- Papers must be submitted electronically in Adobe PDF format by January 15, 2012.
Keynote Speaker, June 1
Jeffrey Unerman, Professor of Accounting and Corporate Accountability and Head of the School of Management at Royal Holloway, University of London, United Kingdom.
The CAAA invites you to submit a paper, and/or volunteer to act as a discussant, a panelist, or a session chair for the conference. For full submission details, visit: http://www.caaa.ca/CAAA/CAAAConf2012/. All papers submitted to the conference will be reviewed by the 2012 Scientific Committee.
Social Event, June 2
The conference social event dinner, on Saturday June 2, will be at Peake’s Quay Restaurant, located on the Charlottetown Waterfront, a short distance from the Charlottetown Harbour.
Peake’s Quay is famous for its traditional lobster dinners to its award winning seafood chowder and an assortment of other seafood delicacies. However, if they do meet your fancy, we’ve been advised by the establishment that they would be happy to serve you up their “AAA” New York Striploins or a great vegetarian dish.
So, it’s a win-win-win for everyone.
So, don’t forget to submit your paper(s) before the January 15, 2012 submission deadline!
We look forward to seeing you in Charlottetown!
Sincerely,
Sylvie Berthelot, Ph.D., FCMA, CGA
